It had been days since Ziva last saw her village. Many moons and suns had already passed and she was nowhere near help.
Her only companion was her father's carrier dog, Frhe. But Ziva knew she couldn't travel with him any longer. Frhe's kind became wild if not broken daily and she hadn't been taught how to fully break them yet.
If Ziva ran away, Frhe would take that as an act of betrayal and kill her. Ziva knew there was only one choice left now.
"Frhe, laij nab....""Frhe, come here...."The dog pranced happily to Ziva. It was night and they had taken shelter beside a giant-like rock. It towered over them, as if waiting to fall from a strike of lightning.
Ziva took Frhe in her arms, hugging him tight. In her hand was her spear.
"Frhe, zam kuv. Kuv lub kov.""Frhe, forgive me. I love you."The night had never been so cold.
Ziva now traveled alone, tired and desperate. She was supposed to wash out the blood from her clothes early that morning; blood attracted monsters. But her spirit was not in it. She had lost it when she lost Frhe, her only companion.
Thankfully, no monsters had attacked her. Maybe the dragons had forgiven her? But something strange was appearing before her. What was this? The sand was slowly disappearing, being replaced by something brown with small parts of green. What?
Ziva followed the strange new road out of curiosity, taking careful steps in case the ground decided to move or worse, change. She looked a bit crazy, her eyes wide open in fear and wonder. She kept following the ground even after a few days. For some reason, she felt this was where she was needed.
This was where the dragons were directing her, she thought.
She almost died in shock when she saw...people?! What?!
She ducked behind a green plant-like thing with berries and leaves, moving some of it around to have a better view.
These were...Siaolomns? They looked like Siaolomns but their skins were pale! Pale skin! What kind of black magic...?! Their eyes were blue and their hair was yellow like the sand. Was this some strange new world Ziva had accidentally wandered into!? Her father was always telling her that curiosity would kill her!
The Siaolomns(?) walked behind a tall gate and then disappeared. Ziva could hear people talking behind the gates and wondered if this was another village. She should try to ask the chief for help and information then!
Ziva jumped over the plant thing she had been hiding behind and raced across the path. But days of barely eating was finally taking its toll on her. Her body grew weak, her mind fuzzy. She was emotionally and physically taxed and now....
This was her limit.
She fainted in front of the towering gates, bloodied clothes and dirty, her spear at her side.
