Cards | ARCANA uses the drama deck to help with storytelling. Every major arcana character is dealt three cards at the beginning of every chapter. Cards may be traded or given away. If you don't want to, you don't have to ever use your cards. Cards are lost at the end of every chapter.
Ace in the Hole - aces Allows the character success against all odds.
Adrenalin - ones Add +3 to STR and DEX for one task.
Presence - twos Add +3 to WIS and CHA for one task.
Willpower - threes Add +3 to CON and INT for one task.
Setback - fours Causes another character to suffer a setback.
Support - fives Gives another character +3 to any stat.
Luck - sixes Cancels out another card.
Escape - sevens Allows your party to flee safely.
Haste - eights Allows quick travel or an extra action in combat.
Failure - nines Your character fails in exchange for three more cards.
Survival - tens Your character survives.
Drama Cards - face cards Drama cards are plot hooks, treated as optional quests for your character. The Storyteller chooses what drama cards they'd like to use.
Examples: Connection - Your character has an old friend or contact at this location who can help the party. Disease - Your character falls ill. Shenanigans ensue. Rebirth - If your character dies in this location, the Storyteller will conceive a way for them to come back from the dead. Nemesis - You have an old enemy--or make a new one--in this location Mistaken Identity - The local populace believe you're someone you're not. Prophecy - Romance -
